Introduction
Shot Streamer ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our video analysis service at shotstreamer.com.
Data Controller: 4Shore Solutions, LLC, New Jersey, USA. Contact: info@shotstreamer.com
Information We Collect
Video Files
When you upload videos to Shot Streamer for analysis, the videos are temporarily processed on our AWS servers. These files are:
- Encrypted in transit using HTTPS
- Stored temporarily during processing
- Automatically deleted after processing is complete
- Never used for training, analysis, or any purpose other than providing the service you requested
- Never shared with third parties
Account Information (Optional)
If you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Password (encrypted using bcrypt)
- User preferences (e.g., detection threshold settings)
- Saved projects (videos and analysis data, up to 5 projects per user)
Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how users interact with our service. This includes:
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Device type and browser information
- Feature usage (e.g., video analyzed, merge enabled, overlay changes)
- Anonymized IP addresses
Note: Google Analytics may use cookies to track your activity. You can opt out using browser extensions or privacy settings.
AI Coaching Analysis
If you use the AI Coach feature, individual frames are extracted from your video and sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for technique analysis. Specifically:
- A small number of frames (typically 10-30) are extracted from your video at key moments
- These frames are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis
- The analysis result (coaching feedback text) is stored with your project data
- Extracted frame images are temporary and deleted from our servers after analysis completes
Anthropic processes frames only to generate the coaching response and does not use your data for model training. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process your videos and provide shot detection analysis
- Maintain your account and saved projects (if you create an account)
- Send verification emails and password reset emails
- Improve our service through analytics and usage patterns
- Respond to your feedback and support requests
Legal Basis for Processing
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: Processing your videos, maintaining your account, managing saved projects, and providing subscription services
- Consent: Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only loaded after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner
- Legitimate interest: Responding to feedback submissions, preventing abuse through rate limiting, and maintaining service security
Data Storage and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12
- AWS Infrastructure: Videos and user data are stored on secure AWS servers (S3, EC2)
- Session Management: JWT-based authentication with secure, HTTP-only cookies
- Rate Limiting: Protection against brute force attacks on authentication endpoints
Data Retention
- Uploaded Videos: Deleted immediately after processing (typically within minutes)
- Saved Projects: Retained while your account is active; deleted when your account is deleted
- Account Data: Retained until you request account deletion
- Login Sessions: Automatically expire after 1 week; expired sessions are purged nightly
- Activity Logs: Retained for up to 1 year, then automatically purged
- Feedback Submissions: Retained for up to 2 years; anonymized on account deletion
- Password Reset & Verification Tokens: Expire within 1-24 hours and are purged nightly
- Analytics Data (Google Analytics): Retained for 14 months (GA4 default)
